As the breakout star of WEtv’s salon reality show “Cutting It In the ATL,” Mushiya brings an unapologetic boldness to her role as the founder of Atlanta’s The Damn Salon. Specializing in styling both natural hair, as well as, enhancing looks with naturally textured extensions, Mushiya believes that every woman is more beautiful with textured hair.
Undaunted, Mushiya has crafted her empire around marketing natural hair, and in 2014 she launched the Runway Curls line of 100% Human Hair and Blended extensions that flawlessly match with natural curl patterns. Such is the demand for Mushiya’s styling expertise and vivacious presence that The Damn Salon features a touring salon division, A Taste of Damn, which hosts pop-up styling suites in cities like Oakland, Houston, New York, Washington D.C. and Charlotte.

Mushiya’s model-esque features and international flair hail from her birthplace in the Congo and formative years spent in Montreal. As a multifaceted creative, Mushiya also is an accomplished singer who releases songs in conjunction with her own brand launches, as well as, records and tours with her husband, producer and fellow “Cutting It” castmate Louis Smith. Her social media platform has skyrocketed with each appearance, generating more than 60,000 followers across Instagram, Facebook, Periscope and YouTube.
